One station includes one furnace, one glassblowing bench and one instructor. In one hour at one station, you'll make one glass piece together as a team. The minimum number of people for one station is two and the maximum is thirty. Usually up to eight people will work together in one station. If you'd like to create more pieces, you'll need more stations. From our experience even thirty participants at one station is a lot of fun, but take into consideration that with a larger group, the dynamic of the workshop will be of an interactive demonstration with 2-3 people participating at any given time. Above twenty participants we limit the number to one station for safety reasons.

At one station in one hour, you work as a team to create one glass piece. For example, if you use two stations for one hour, you'll create together two pieces. If you use two stations for two hours, you'll create four pieces.
You can select from a drinking glass, a bowl, a vase, a plant pot, a lighting fixture, a sculpture and more.
At the start of the workshop you'll choose what piece to create and which coloring technique you'd like to use.
The minimum is two people and up to thirty participants. It's always private – you make your own glass without others involved – and have your private instructor/s.
Yes. When you book a workshop, you'll have a private station where you'll create your pieces with a private instructor. If you're a couple or a small group there may be other workshops with other instructors happening at the same time in the studio.
Our workshops takes place at Speculo, our studio, at the top of the crusader fortress at Caesarea port. We're located at the edge of the port with a panoramic view of the sea. The port is part of the national park. There's a 14 NIS per person entrance fee to the port. If you have a Matmon card – entrance is free.

Yes. There is a free parking lot near the entrance to the national park. Put in the GPS, "Caesarea Winery." Park there and continue on foot into the port through the national park's entrance gate.
We are located at the head of the crusader fortress with 35 steps leading to us. We are happy to assist you if you are arriving with a wheelchair.
The studio itself is entirely accessible and we are happy to enable as many people as possible to experience glassblowing. We will make every effort to accommodate any other accessibility limitations or otherwise to ensure you have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
The parking is adjacent to Caesarea Winery. Those with a handicapped parking ticket can park in the internal parking lot adjacent to Beach Bar. Note you will still need to pay the entry fee at the national park entrance.
Children from the age five and up can participate.
The workshop fits a range of ages, both children and adults have a great time. We've had many families, couples, and work colleagues.
We are open for workshops everyday of the week – accept for Sundays (including Friday and Saturday). You can see available hours in the online booking system.
We are quite busy so it's best to book as early as possible. You can view available dates and times in the online booking system.
Yes, Speculo is located inside Caesarea port and surrounding us are a number of restaurants; both kosher and not kosher, which are open all days of the week.
At the end of the workshop we place your pieces into the annealing oven for gradual cooling where they will cool slowly for two days.
Without this process the glass will break. After the cooling is completed we'll sand the bottom of the glass and package it for shipping. Shipping usually takes 3 weeks in Israel.
At the Jewellery and Miniature workshops you get to take the glass with you after it cools off for 30 minutes
Regular shipping within Israel takes about three weeks and is included in the price of the workshop. If you'd like to expedite it, 5 day shipping to Tel Aviv will cost 250 NIS. International shipping cost is 750 NIS.
Please come wearing closed-toed shoes for safety, and we recommended to wear a short sleeve shirt.
Even in the winter it is warm and cozy near the ovens. We also recommend to bring an extra shirt if you'd like to change after the workshop.
From the date of booking up to two weeks of the scheduled workshop, you will receive a refund minus 250 NIS. The rescheduling fee is 250 NIS.
If you cancel less than two weeks and more than seven days of the scheduled workshop, you will receive a refund of 50% of the workshop price. There is an added cost of 50% to reschedule.
If you cancel or reschedule within seven days or less, there is no refund.
Our cancellation policy is due to the fact that we are a small business and our spaces are limited. We will of course take into account special circumstances.
The choice of location in Caesarea, surrounded by the sea, is part of their desire to create a unique and exciting hands-on experience with glass.
Speculo was founded in 2019 by Grisha and Yachdav with the vision of becoming the Israeli home for glass.
Creating art and design through glass, and offering a variety of glass workshops and courses for all ages
Grisha and Yachdav met during their studies in Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and decided to open a studio to make this magical material accessible for all.
Yachdav's romance with glass began in his childhood, when he would visit his aunt’s glassblowing studio in Chicago. From there it was his natural path to study glassblowing at Bezalel.
Yachdav dreamt of making the magic of glassblowing accessible to the public. Speculo has made this dream a reality.
A space that mixes human connection and creativity, filled with glowing glass.
At his second year at Bezalel, Grisha entered the glassblowing studio,
and from then until the end of his
degree, he didn’t leave.
Glass is a challenging and exciting material with a life of its own. Grisha succeeds in each workshop to reveal the magic of glass, with professional guidance and love for the material.
